Hanoi, Vietnam – Street Photography, Vol. 1

One of my favorite countries is Vietnam.

Long before I ever visited, I had believed it to be a beautiful country. Once I got the chance to actually travel to Vietnam, I quickly felt in love with it. It is a destination I can visit many times here in Asia and never tire of it.

The happenings all around the city streets of Hanoi is what I have enjoyed the most.

I am fascinated by the motorbikes, scooters, and the cyclos on the streets, which outnumber cars. Cyclos are three-wheeled bicycle taxis. I would say they’re the best way to get around and tour the city, even with a toddler in tow.

The beauty, calm, and active lifestyle of the people hanging out around Hoan Kiem Lake is also intriguing. This was my favorite place to go around lunchtime and in the evenings.

Then, there are the fruit vendors walking through the chaotic streets of Hanoi. It was these ladies that I followed my first couple of days in Hanoi to learn how to walk and cross the streets in the what seemed to be endless traffic of motorbikes.

If you’re into street photography, then Hanoi, Vietnam is the place to go. There is so much to happening all around that you can capture.

I am looking forward to my next trip there for the sake of eating great food, getting some clothes custom-made, mingling and making new friends with some of the friendliest people in Asia and the world, and collecting more travel photographs.

I would like to photograph more of the specific market areas in Hanoi. For example, they have fruit markets, flower markets, silk markets and more.
